Eco-Tours

The location of Reel Inn, directly on the Pacific Ocean, allows us to offer a variety of Eco Activities to our guests. Although we have access to the open ocean, we are also located on a series of estuaries that are inland from our location. From our lodge we can take you on guided kayak tours up these estuaries, toward the many river mouths that flow out of the spectacular Panamanian rain forest. These tours are truly a once in a lifetime adventure, that can be done while some members of your party are fishing, or your whole group can take advantage of this activity together. You will see birds, fish, and wildlife in their most pristine form.

Reel Inn also owns land on Bejuco Peninsula, which is about ten kilometers from our lodge. From this location you can ride horses on the beautiful and desolate beaches of this area. We have 12 foot tides every day, exposing very large stretches of hard sand beaches at low tide, which are perfect for riding horses in complete solitude. If a picnic on your own secluded Island is what you are looking for, we also offer this from our lodge. We will take you by boat to a secluded Island beach, set up a portable gazebo complete with food and drinks, and then when you are ready we will come and pick you up. No hassles, no people, just you, the monkeys, and other wildlife on the Island. From Reel Inn we also can take you on whale watching trips, scuba diving/snorkeling, or if surfing is you passion we would be happy to take you surfing from the boat. It’s the same as surfing an isolated beach except at the end of the day, you paddle back out to the boat, sip a cool drink and cruise back to your bungalow.

We also have many other activities to occupy your time while in Panama. We would be happy to take to into the rain forest for a variety of activities that include hikes, bird watching, river rafting, coffee plantation tours, and the most exciting of all, the tree top “zip line” tour. During a “zip line” tour you will be taken high into the tree top canopy, and then ride down to the ground in a series of “zip lines”, which are cables attached to platforms in the trees. The only sounds you will hear is the air rushing by your ears, and the wildlife of the Panamanian rainforest. Well if I’m there you could possibly hear me screaming like a little girl. It’s truly an unforgettable experience!
