Gulf of Chiriqui, Republic of Panama’

Tuna Season 2025

Well it is Tuna Season on what many consider THE Tuna Coast!!  Fishing should be pretty good right…WRONG…Fishing is OFF THE CHARTS!!!  April of 2024 brought the normal Yellowfin Tuna migration to the Gulf of Chiriqui & last tuna season produced lots of big hard fighting fish & even a few Sea Monsters!  The Tuna usually migrate out of our area in July…but in July 2024, they never left.  August, September, October and into the winter months which normally brings Big Dorado and Billfish produced LOTS of Tuna…LOTS…but hardly any Dorado.  This trend is Still producing great numbers of tuna, but still hardly any Dorado.  We have caught exactly 3 Mahi Mahi all year.  So here we are firmly into our normal Tuna Season for 2025 which is producing huge numbers of Giant Yellowfin.  We normally have a 3 or 4 month Tuna Season…this year we are in our 14th month of Tuna Season with out a break.  Believe it our not, I am kinda sick of Tuna…there are only sooooo many ways to prepare great, fresh tuna fish fillets.  Our dogs eat very well.

There have been good numbers of Sailfish and Marlin all winter long…maybe not one of our greater years, but at Bucket List Fishing we have been nailing our share of Magnificent Billfish for our eager fishermen.  We can also stop off  to local Islands and Sea Mounds to drop our baits to the bottom…you never know what that might produce…Snapper, Amber Jacks, Grouper and many other Species, all prowling the depths!!

Inshore Fishing…well I guess I could give you the Chamber of Commerce Report that the fishing is awesome…but maybe it is best I give you the Actual Report.  It has been a little tough hunting the inshore Islands for Roosters and Cubera this year.  It is still pretty good and there are some great catches on most every trip.  Our guys are still averaging 3 to 4 Quality Fish like Roosters, Cubera Snapper, Rock, Red and Yellow Snapper or Blue Jacks as well as other fish like Jack Cravalle and Barracuda on most every trip….

But there have not been too many of those 8 Rooster days this year.

So Inshore Fishing is good, but Offshore Fishing at this time is your best bet!  It is starting to rain a little bit which cools things down and turns the country side green!!  The fantastic fishing seems to be very strong and shows no signs of slowing down…so come on down to Panama and let Bucket List Fishing give you the Adventure of Your Lifetime…BEND THEM RODS!!!!!!!
